About Sarah

Missing out is an awful feeling, but you know what is worse than that? An allergic reaction! As a foodie, it is deflating to watch everyone else enjoy an amazing meal when my “safe” meal is relegated to a basic salad, a plain piece of chicken, or worse a rock hard tasteless cookie. No thanks! Food should taste GOOD!

When I was first diagnosed with a gluten allergy I went from grinding my own wheat for delicious homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes and Saturday morning pancakes to ONLY eating vegetables, bone broths, meat, and an occasional piece of fruit.

During that season, food wasn’t the only thing hurting me. I had to throw away ALL my make-up, shampoo, lotions and a slew of other personal care products because they had gluten in them. What in the world? In EVERY part of my life I was missing out!

When I was served a gluten free cupcake at a wedding. My husband can attest to the tears that appeared. Our dear friends had thought of me on their special day. Guess what? I savored every bite of that wedding cupcake. I will never forget how being included made me feel! As a result of their thoughtfulness, I realized I treasure the experience of sharing meals TOGETHER. Being included is powerful!

That idea gave birth to the Gluten Free Makery. We make gluten free treats and gifts so you can make a gluten free life! You don’t have to worry if it’s going to taste good…I’ve done all the work so you can simply enjoy it.

The more I share about my experiences and successes, the more people reach out to me. Everyone from chefs to caterers to those newly diagnosed with an allergy or sensitivity have questions and need resources. The Gluten Free Makery exists to make being gluten free a natural way of life.

I’m not missing out anymore and neither are my customers and clients. I am a great cook, a trusted voice, and an inspiring resource for healthy gluten free living. I am SET APART!
